Classic Snake
Deadly walls, tight board. The purest test of nerve.

This is snake the way it was meant to be played: solid walls, a tight board, and no second chances. Eat the food, grow longer, and keep your nerve as the board fills up.
About this mode
The classic snake game is built around one rule that never changes: the board is your enemy as much as your own tail is. With solid walls, every turn near an edge is a small decision that can end the run. That constant pressure is what separates a casual game from a genuine test of focus.
Start slow. In the early game the snake is short and the whole grid feels open, but that is exactly when good players set up their strategy. The most reliable approach is to travel in long, predictable rows — up one column, across, down the next — so the tail always follows a path you can predict.
Use the arrow keys or WASD on desktop. On mobile, swipe in the direction you want the head to travel, or tap the D-pad under the board. Press Space to start or to restart after a game over.
Once you have the classic down, try the more forgiving wrap-around Google snake, or step up the speed with neon mode. For scoring tactics, see our high-score guide.

Move in tidy rows and always leave yourself an escape lane. Use the edges to your advantage and never turn into a space you cannot get out of.
Each piece of food speeds the snake up slightly. This is the traditional difficulty curve — the longer you survive, the sharper your reactions need to be.
Yes. Swipe in any direction or use the on-screen D-pad. The board scales to fit your screen.
