Classic Snake
Deadly walls, tight board. The purest test of nerve.
Free · Instant play
Inspired by the snake game hidden inside Google search, this mode lets the snake pass through the edges and reappear on the opposite side. Friendlier than classic — and great for long, high-scoring runs.
About this mode
The Google-style snake game removes the single most frustrating way to lose: crashing into a wall. Here the board wraps, so the head slides off one edge and instantly reappears on the opposite side. It keeps the momentum going and rewards players who think about the whole grid as one connected loop.
Because you cannot die on the edges, your runs last longer and the snake grows much bigger. That shifts the entire challenge onto tail management. The longer the snake, the more of the board it occupies, and the more carefully you have to plan a path that does not trap you inside your own body.
Google added a playable snake game to its search results years ago, and it became a favourite for quick breaks. Our version uses the same forgiving wrap-around rule so it feels familiar, but it also works as a full-screen board with saved high scores and mobile controls. For the full walkthrough, read how to play Google snake.
Prefer a stricter challenge? The classic mode brings back deadly walls.
FAQ
This is a free version inspired by the snake game built into Google search. It is not made by or affiliated with Google, but it plays in the same friendly wrap-around style.
The walls are not deadly. When the snake reaches an edge it passes through and appears on the opposite side, so you only ever lose by hitting your own tail.
For staying alive, yes — edges no longer kill you. But because runs last longer, the snake grows very long, which makes avoiding your own tail the real challenge.
You can search for snake on Google and open its built-in version, or simply play here with no searching required. Our guide explains both.
