About this mode

How no-walls snake changes the game

Removing the walls turns snake from a boxing-in puzzle into a flowing one. You can escape a tight spot by wrapping to the far side, which opens up bold, looping routes that would be suicidal on the classic board.

But do not get complacent: the speed still rises with every apple, and a long snake wrapping around the board can box itself in just as easily as it would against a wall. The challenge simply shifts from the edges to your own growing tail.

Controls

Use the arrow keys or WASD on desktop. On mobile, swipe in the direction you want the head to travel, or tap the D-pad under the board. Press Space to start or to restart after a game over.

FAQ

Questions about this mode

What does no walls mean in snake?

The board edges wrap around, so the snake passes through one side and reappears on the opposite side instead of crashing.

Is this the same as Google snake?

It shares the wrap-around idea. Our Google snake mode is themed after the built-in Google game, while this mode focuses purely on the no-walls mechanic.

Can you still lose without walls?

Yes — running into your own tail still ends the game, and that gets easier to do as the snake grows.
