Classic Snake
Deadly walls, tight board. The purest test of nerve.
Free · Arcade throwback
Before phones, snake lived in the arcade. This retro mode brings back that feel: a small, busy board where the walls bite and every apple makes the snake a little quicker.
About this mode
The retro snake game leans into the coin-op era — the descendants of Blockade (1976) and its clones that filled arcades. The board is deliberately small so it fills up fast, and the accelerating pace keeps the tension high from the very first bite.
It is a great pick if you want short, intense runs rather than a long marathon. Master the tight turns here and every other mode on the site will feel roomy by comparison.
Use the arrow keys or WASD on desktop. On mobile, swipe in the direction you want the head to travel, or tap the D-pad under the board. Press Space to start or to restart after a game over.
